just an update

I am getting more addicted to facebook and am blogging less and less. That is not a good thing, as I am not staying current on life in the Polson household. I guess my current topic would be....Can Tax season just be officially ready to go, so that I can have my husband home again???
I am sure Teresa and Brittany would agree. Being a taxworks widow is a tough thing. HOWEVER, it is not as bad as having Kris traveling like he was. Last year he was gone the whole month of January and came back for 5 days in February and then was gone the rest of that month as well. So, at least I get to have him home at night and we can snuggle on the couch and he can rub my feet and I can listen to him snore in bed at night. Something very reassuring about having your spouse right there by you in bed. Even if we never get a full night of sleep anymore...
Which would be topic number 2. The Dogs. Is it normal for the dogs to need to go out more as they age? Is it normal for great big slurpy, licky noises in the middle of the night as they drink from their water bowl? I swear, every night, Zoe is up and drinking and then up to go out and if it is not her, then Zeus hears a noise and wants to go out in the back to chase whatever poor creature might be lurking out there. I feel sorry for the unidentifiable creatures in our back yard that must cower in fear and two big lumbering, spastic dogs pick up their scent and tear mercilessly at them. So I get online and check the ever demanding Facebook and wait for sometimes up to an hour for the dogs to get done and come back in.
Usually at this point I am awake again and get out the blankets and pillows and snuggle in on the couch and watch whatever late night options there are on cable...sometimes they are few and far between.
But that is life right now.
Kris is still busy at taxworks. Nate has been invited to preference but has no money and no job to get his tux and flowers...thanks to mom and dad he will be ok. Nick is starting staff trainings this saturday for his summer job at camp bartlett and Caitlyn is in extensive rehearsals for "the music man" at FFJH. I am staring choir practice next week and we are doing 8 songs from various musicals including, Lion King, Grease, Wicked and Mama Mia. Wish me luck!

You sound busy! I think you spend more time 'up in the night' with your dogs than I do with my baby. I hope that gets better for you. Do you let them outside in the summer?
