I had to write and keep you up to date on Nate's first Sunday as a Priest. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous for him and anxious to see how he would do with his new responsibilities in the priesthood. He got right up there and got the sacrament table ready, he even sat up and sort of sang the sacrament hymn and then it was his turn to bless the sacrament for the first time. WOW. I kept a prayer in my heart, I know Caitlyn did too. He made it through flawlessly. It was perfect. He was loud enough, slow enough and enunciated enough. He didnt even mess up any words. It was amazing!! I was touched in my heart and both Kris and I were so pleased at how well he did. He even came home and did fast offerings and then went home teaching!! WOW. My son is growing up! It is amazing to see the change in him this week. He said he preferred to bless the sacrament, it was "cool".
So, I am a humbled mom and am grateful for a worthy husband who has taught my boys both by word and by example of how a priesthood holder should be!
You would all be very proud of Nate

happy easter
we just wanted to take a minute and wish all of you a happy easter. We hope that you have had the opportunity to reflect upon the atonement and resurrection of the Savior this day. It has been a beautiful day here. We had the amazing opportunity to see our oldest son, Nate, advance in the priesthood to the office of a Priest. He had an amazing interview with the Bishop on Saturday. We were able to sit in with him and listen to him talk about the comparisons between the sacrament and the duties of the Priest in preparing and blessing the sacrament and the atonement. How each week nate is responsible for helping people, through the preparation of the sacrament, to renew their covenants at baptism and by doing so, participating in the atonement each week, being forgiven of their sins. It was pretty awesome. Anyway, Kris got to ordain him a Preist in YM's. How awesome to have a son advance in the priesthood. It is great as a mother to have so many priesthood holders in my home!! Anyway. I just thought I would share that with you because it was such an awesome day and a great way to celebrate Easter!!
Love to you all!!
Love to you all!!

mommy land
Well, it is Friday and my day off....well, off from working at school, but not off from being the mom and all the stuff that has to be done in mommy land. But as I sit and reflect, I am most grateful for the stuff I get to do in mommy land, because here it is safe and secure and I know where I stand, even if the people in mommy land dont like the mommy, I know eventually they will come around and mommy land will be a peaceable kingdom again. I got up this morning and took the kids to school. Then I went over to Lincoln Elementary, where I worked for 4 years to borrow some things for my choir at Layton Elementary. I got to see lots of people I loved to work with and friends whom i have not stayed in great contact with, but who I still think are great!! I miss not being there, it was a great place to be and I got to associate with great people!! But it is not the same as being the mom.
Here is mommy land, I get to have hugs and kisses, and great big licks from the dogs. I get pampered and loved unconditionally and the people here even help with some of my jobs. I came home from Choir rehearsal last night and my boys had done the dishes. It was fabulous.
Last Tuesday night, I was rushing out the door to get Cailtyn to her 6 month interview with a member of the bishopric. On my way out the garage, I fell and hit the floor with a SMACK!! Kris looked back and saw me sprawled on the floor crying. In my tears, I managed to say "ankle, ankle". I twisted my ankle and it HURT. But within seconds, I had Nate and Caitlyn to my side with Ice and something for me to put my hands on as kris looked at my ankle (that garage floor is COLD) Then Nick came up and helped as well. My boys took me in the house and got me to the couch, got pillows under my ankle and sat with me. What great kids live in mommy land!!
So, even though I am not a big fan of doing the dishes, or constantly cleaning and reminding the people that live in my land that I am not the maid, I am the queen, I wouldnt trade mommy land for any other land out there (except, maybe vacation land every now and again!)
Have a great day! Enjoy being the mom!!

Daddy is home
Well as of 8:30 Pm last night, we have our daddy home. It is so nice to not be the single parent and to have my companion and sweetheart home! The kids were soooo wound up last night before we went to the airport to pick him up. We were eating dinner and playing a rousing game of "killer bunnies" and we were just out of control!! I know everyone was as excited as I was to get him back. His trip home was long. He left Presque Isle, Maine about 9 am on a twin prop plane (pretty nice plane) they had received about 10 inches of snow the night before, so he was a little anxious about whether they would be able to get off the runway or not. But they flew into Boston and he had to go out of the airport and back in through Delta's terminals and through security again. Then he had a layover there. Then onto JFK in New York and a quick plane change. He left JFK about 5:30 NY time and arrived home about 8:10 our time. He was tired and was still 2 hours ahead. We finally arrived home, got him some home cooked food and then tucked him in bed. Boy were the dogs unhappy. They have spent the past two weeks sleeping up by mom, because I am a push over for them and because they keep me warm. They didnt know what to do when they couldnt get on the bed to sleep. It was a restful night for Kris and he slept well... I, on the other hand, did not. The dogs needed to go out at 2 am, I kept dreaming Kris and I were Vampire Slayers, just wierd and wild. But it was great to know that I was not alone in the morning and that my hubby was home!
I will post a few more Maine pictures when I get home tonight! It is truely amazing and beautiful up there!~
