Here are some of the beginning photos. We were pleased as punch to discover hard wood floors under the aging carpet. So enjoy!!
This is the smaller living room as you first come into the house. Notice the lovely yellow/orange shag and the purpleish 1940's couch and chair...
AHHH...no more yellow/orange shag! And look at that hardwood. Good thing Kris was wearing the mask...he found a decomposed mouse (skeleton) EEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
Kris and Nate working hard. This carpet was probably 1950's sears brand. It was soooo heavy and had this plastic backing that was sooo thick. And then the lovely orange pad underneath!! NEATO!
One last picture from yesterday...we got a ton done in about 5 and a half hours! YAHOO. Next stop...removing the wood burning stove and tackling the kitchen!! SO MUCH STUFF!!!

wow! What hard work but the place looks great! Enjoy some well deserved rest ...
What a pretty floor! And even better, getting rid of the shag carpet! :) We'll see you on the 4th! At 4 right?
I remember when I found the oak floor in our 1881 Victorian in Colorado. It was like finding a treasure under the avocado green 1974 shag carpet. I'm a bit jealous of your project. But don't miss the work it envolves. Keep those strappin boys busy! By the way sister........Happy Birthday!!!! Love you
Ewwe that's so gross. Plus you found a mouse. I think I'd scream. I'm feeling sick thinking about it. The wood floors look great though! I love how you supervised & took pictures while the men worked. :)
yes...I am the mother...I know how to delegate and get the men ( i use that term lightly) to do it!
WAHOO! If any of you are interested in project demolation, feel free to come help!! :)
